WangZi and Kid asked each other questions relating to “disappearing” and they had to answer quickly. WangZi was really serious, like he always is. Haha, he should learn to joke around more! But Kid was quite funny with all his rubbish answers lol.
WangZi went to the HongKong Film Festival last week for the promotion of Honey Pupu. Here are the fanvids! (: There was a screening of the movie at the film festival! WangZi introduced himself as “Cola” and he was so cute!
WangZi put away his image as an idol and took on a role as an otaku in the movie, Honey Pupu. Director Chen Hong-Yi revealed that WangZi nearly broke down when he first put on the wig; WangZi also admitted that he was really afraid that people he knew saw him in that appearance. Honey Pupu would represent Taiwan in the “I watch my movie” category in the Hong Kong Films Festival, and it would premiere in Hong Kong.
Chen Hong-Yi said that WangZi is one of the few idol artistes in Taiwan who is both smart and popular. Not only did WangZi act in the movie, he also helped to compose the theme song for the movie. On top of that, he has a talent in acting, and learns really quickly. He managed to switch between an idol and an otaku very quickly and accurately.
WangZi said that he was really lively and bubbly in school, but because his family is stricter, he had already learnt the skills of switching roles quickly. This is why it was easier for him to get into and out of the character. However the difficulty is that he had to put on a wig and tear away from fashion so as to deliver the image of an otaku, and he had quite a struggle with that.
Chen Hong-Yi said that when they did the fitting for the first time, he really couldn’t imagine how WangZi would look like as an otaku and he told WangZi to put on a wig. WangZi said “When I put on that wig, I nearly broke down.” He said that in the past if he did not fix his hair he would not dare to go to school, and if his blouse had creases on it he would have to iron it straight before leaving home.
After acting in Honey Pupu, WangZi realised that guys do not necessarily need to be handsome for girls to like; guys who are pure and do not have any motives would also be loved. He is thankful to Chen for helping him to open up and said that this is a really big challenge in his life.
WangZi admitted that he has not reached the standard of Andy Lau or Takeshi Kaneshiro who “look handsome no matter what they do”. He said, “now I still need to have some pretense but I’m a lot more natural. At least I would dare to wear shorts to the convenience store to buy things.”
This is the trailer for WangZi’s movie, Honey PuPu. It seems quite interesting to watch, but I hope it doesn’t turn out to be a weird and un-understandable movie!
Yupp the trailer for Honey PuPu is out. It looks….different. It doesn’t look like the typical movie, and well I guess it’s about people disappearing? It might turn out to be an interesting movie anyway. And I really think WangZi looks really cute with this hair x) Anyway, it will only start showing in March 2011.
