0529 Lollipop F visits Korea for the 4th time in 2 years, reminisces the times they “co-habitated”

Lollipop F’s charm has been increasing, and they have visited Korea 4 times in 2 years. Following their role as ambassadors for Jeju-do in 2010, and being invited on STAR KING in 2011, they were invited to the Korean Expo last weekend (25th May), being the only Taiwanese group that got invited. The local media compared their Love Love Dance with KARA’s Butt Dance and HyunA’s sexy dance, praising Lollipop F’s dance skills as the pride of C-pop.

On the day of the event, Lollipop F also went to visit the exhibits about green energy and marine technology. When they visited the exhibit about robots, they were all excited about the improvement in modern technology, especially when they saw the exhibit of a female robot. AoQuan expressed he would want a male robot. “My mum would be jealous. Her wish is to be my girlfriend in her next life. I already promised her during Mothers’ Day this year!” AhWei said “It’d be good to have someone preparing meals for you. I’d clean the robot everyday just in case it malfunctions when it’s cooking!” WeiLian then teased AhWei saying “Your muscles are so big, I think you are already a robot!” XiaoYu is hoping to see a robot which you can bring around. “This way, next time when we go overseas for work we can just bring the robot around. The company would be able to save a huge sum of money!” They were also really excited to see a robot dancing to Super Junior’s Sorry Sorry and they also played soccer with a robot. AhWei said “Previously we have seen it on the news but it’s still really exciting seeing the robot perform in real life! Maybe next time everyone would just wear an armor suit like Iron Man and we won’t have to work out anymore”

That night, Lollipop F also stood on the stage of the Korea Expo, and performed Love Conquest and DANCE. The crowd of more than 20000 people screamed when they did the Love Love DANCE. At the end of the event, the organizers specially arranged for Lollipop F to meet MBLAQ back at the hotel. They two groups promised to take care of each other next time.

During this trip to Korea, the boys were all excited when they saw the hotel room. The rooms were really huge. Each room had 4 beds and 2 bathrooms, and a living room, dining room and a balcony. Initially it was arranged for 2 members to share one room, but the 4 boys decided to relive the feeling of staying together, leaving the other room to their co-workers. WeiLian said “The room is really huge. The 4 of us have been staying separately for 2 years, so we decided to relive the feeling of “cohabitation”.  They played pillow fights and just rolled around the bed and reminisced about the past when they were staying together. XiaoYu said “I remember when we were staying together, we all had our own habits. We would often get into disagreements over cleanliness but AoQuan would always be the first to step out and manage the mess!” AhWei said “Whenever someone locks himself in the room, we’ll drag him out to talk and share about their troubles.” However, after 1 hour, the 4 of them decided that it’d be better for them to stay separately! It’s because the boys couldn’t change their habits and the room was in a mess. AoQuan said “We were just talking and unpacking our luggages, and then the room just exploded, so we decided it’d be better to stay separately.”

0314 LPF – Michelle Chong sets her eyes on AoQuan for new film

When reporters interviewed Lollipop F back in February, AoQuan had asked reporters to help him pass the message to Michelle Chong, saying that he had seen reports that Michelle Chong was interested in looking for him and Jam Hsiao to act in her 2nd movie, and that he is really willing to act in it.

However, at that time, Michelle told reporters that her 2nd movie was going to be in English and AoQuan was unsuitable for that at the moment.

Recently, Michelle had asked on twitter “Can AoQuan speak English?”

When asked about it 2 days ago, she verified that she had set her eyes on AoQuan for her new movie which would start filming at the end of May. She will be contacting him soon. She explained that her plans for the English movie has been delayed and would start filming the Chinese film first. When she saw AoQuan expressing his interest in the movie, she had AoQuan in mind all the time when crafting the script. “I crafted the character based on AoQuan’s style.”

Michelle describes the character as a mischievous and outgoing guy who did a lot of things to attract the girl’s attention.

Michelle confessed that when she saw AoQuan in “You are the apple of my eye”, she wasn’t sure if he would be suitable for the character because he didn’t have much screen time. After that, she went online and watched a few of AoQuan’s interviews and thought that he had his own thinking and is really suitable for the role.

Michelle added that this character is the one she is most satisfied with among all the characters she has written. She said “There’s so much to explore. If I was a guy and 10 years younger, I would definitely act!”

The movie is about the love story between 2 guys and 1 girl. As for the other male lead, Michelle had actually revealed it on Twitter when she tweeted “anyone from BigBang can speak English?”

She verified that she was looking for a Korean star to act as the other male lead, and Big Bang is the ideal. However it is too expensive to get them to act.

Although it is a Chinese movie, the male leads need to know English because the story revolves around 3 Asian students who studied in Australia. When asked about the requirements to speak English, Michelle said “There wouldn’t be a lot of English lines, maybe one or two, or maybe 5 or 6. No, I think it’s 7! Haha”

As for the Korean role, because he is a person who would not understand Chinese, he would have to speak in English throughout the whole show. As for the female lead, Michelle is hoping for a new face and is looking for potential candidates. 0225 JPM’s WangZi received his enlistment order, to enlist in March

Following Ethan Ruan and Ming Dao’s enlistent, 23 year old member of JPM, WangZi, was said to have received his enlistment order, and is scheduled to serve national service in March.

WangZi had studied in Taichung’s Xin Min High School, but transferred out to Zhuang Jing High School (where a lot of other artistes study) after joining Mo Fan Bang Bang Tang. He then went into Xing Wu Technological University to study English. As there are many male artistes who use education as an excuse to delay their enlistment, “XingWu” made a rule that every student cannot take more than 5 absent leaves in a term. However, it was said that WangZi took too many leaves the previous term and hence was expelled. The new term has started but he had not managed to complete his school transfer procedures. Hence he received the enlistment order.

Reporters had called XingWu’s student affairs office, and a staff verified that WangZi had been expelled as he took more than 5 leaves the previous semester.

MingDao studied for 11 years in university to delay his enlistment, while 31 year old Huang Zhi Wei is still struggling. Last year, the national service order was changed that the maximum age to serve national service is 28. WangZi is 23 this year, and he can still delay for a few more years. To add on to that, he just took on SETTV’s new idol drama “Ai Shang Qiao Ke Li”, and JPM is preparing to release their second album. The enlistment order came as a shock to him.

JPM flew to GuangZhou yesterday for an event. With regards to this piece of news, Andy expressed that he was quite shocked, and added that WangZi had attended his mid-terms and end-terms examinations the previous term and had obtained pretty good results. However he wasn’t aware that WangZi couldn’t take leave for more than 5 times.

I wonder if he’s really going in. I’m going to miss him and like it has been long since any of them appeared in an idol drama and I really want to watch him appear in the drama ):

0208 Lollipop F’s Owodog avoids tweeting Gillian Chung

Taiwanese boyband Lollipop F’s leader Owodog says he willfully avoided interacting with Gillian Chung after he was implicated in a romance with the Hong Kong singer-actress.

Rumours started flying last September when the two were seen tweeting each other on Weibo frequently. Gillian was also seen attending a gathering at Owodog’s home, and catching You Are The Apple of My Eye with him in Taipei.

Owodog plays one of the sidekicks to lead actor Kai Ko in the movie, a top-grossing Taiwanese film on high-school romance. He is also widely known for his close resemblance to Edison Chen, the man responsible for Gillian’s downfall following their photo scandal.

He did however say that his friendship with Gillian remains unchanged, although the rumours did make him feel uneasy at first.

“It was quite awkward for a while…We tried to remain low-key, because we didn’t want anything to be blown out of proportion,” said Owodog. “But we’ve met at some award shows recently, and we are still good friends.”

Together with band mates William and Fabien, Lollipop F was in Singaproe to promote their new album Dance.

They also talked about their dance battle experience against Korean pop royalty Super Junior, on hit Korean variety show Star King.

Lollipop F expresses that they have adjusted their attitude and mood since the members left, and they all still keep in contact.

Lollipop F is back in Singapore for the promotion of their 2nd album, DANCE. Because AhWei was in China for the filming of a movie, he did not manage to take part in the media interviews.

In their new album, DANCE, they portray a more matured and sexy feeling, exhibiting the Love Love Dance in their title track, DANCE. Lollipop F received an interview with xinmsn and talked about their dance lessons in Korea. AoQuan laughed and said “Initially, we thought our stamina was not bad. But when we reached there, we realised all of us were not good at all!”

In 2010, WangZi and XiaoJie left BangBangTang. In August last year, they formed a new group JPM, together with WangZi’s brother, MaoDi. There were rumours that Lollipop F fell out with WangZi and XiaoJie over this.

In response to this, WeiLian clarified that they still kept in contact and would discuss their songs and dances, giving advice to each other.

However, both JPM and Lollipop F focused on dance songs, making it hard for the media to not compare. WeiLian said “Actually, we can understand where the media is coming from, so no matter what headlines is put, we know how deep our relationship is, and won’t  question the other party.”

Lollipop F emphasized that they treated JPM as friendly competition and would not hate them. “We still interact. After all, we have all grown up.”

Nevertheless, it is still difficult to adjust when people you worked alongside with suddenly became your competitors. XiaoYu said “After that, we decided to look at things from a different angle. We took “Bang Bang Tang” as an university. After everyone graduated, we would all do our own things. Perhaps we would be in the same industry, and might become competitors, but that is normal.”

As Lollipop F matures, the members start to think of expanding their career in different areas. AoQuan is currently preparing to release a sketchbook, AhWei and WeiLian are looking into acting.

XiaoYu, who has a number of compositions in Lollipop F’s album, is looking into releasing his solo album this year.

XiaoYu said that most of his inspiration come from when he is showering, and would often rush to finish showering to record the melody in his phone. He is currently selecting songs for his album.

“I will start recording really soon. As to how I would release them, it’s still unsure.”

1220 Lollipop F will be taking on different jobs next year

Taiwanese boyband Lollipop F went for a radio interview. They expressed that they would be trying out different jobs next year. For example, XiaoYu would be releasing his solo EP, AhWei and WeiLian would be acting, and AoQuan would be acting and releasing his sketchbook. AoQuan would also be starting his own label. He said, “previously, WeiLian’s fried chicken shop closed down. To help him “take revenge”, I would be investing with a few of my friends. (Would you look for WeiLian?) No! His way of doing business is a little weird.”

1220 Lollipop F used their life to DANCE, AhWei bled twice

Lollipop F went for an award ceremony in Hong Kong last weekend with 2 of their members having flu, and AhWei danced till his hand bled. This was the second time they saw blood during the promotional activities for this new album, DANCE.

Recently, AhWei and XiaoYu had fallen sick. During the rehearsal for Hong Kong’s TVB 8 award ceremony, lead singer XiaoYu nearly fainted. During the break time between the rehearsal and actual show, XiaoYu kept saying that he was “about to die”. When he went off tune during the performance, nobody had the heart to reprimand him. AhWei was wearing a pair of gloves which Elva had given during the performance, but discovered that his hand was bleeding after the performance.

Lollipop F’s “Love love dance” had managed to bring up the atmosphere. While the 4 of them were shaking hard on stage, Zhang Yunjing was dancing along off stage. Lollipop F brought home TVB 8′s Golden Melody Award as well as Best Group Silver Award. Zhang Yunjing won the Golden Melody Award for XiangFanDeWo, as well as the Most Popular Female Artiste Award. Derrick Hoh won his first composing award that night.

Yesterday, Lollipop F continued staying in Hong Kong for filming. There was a lion dance show, and AhWei bled a second time. On 23rd, they would be returning to Taipei for an award ceremony. 1114 Lollipop F: All our efforts just to show that we can do it

Lollipop F’s profile: December 2006, after a thousand-people audition, 3 elimination rounds, 6boys debuted as “BangBangTang”. They took part in idol dramas, released the first album “NaLiPa”, and held their first concert in 2008 Jan 26th at XiaoJuDan, becoming the first group who managed to have a concert at Taipei Arena with only one album. In November 2011, AoQuan, XiaoYu, WeiLian and AhWei formed Lollipop F (while WangZi and XiaoJie became JPM along with MaoDi), and released their album SiDuKongJian.

Recently, Lollipop F held an autograph session in GuangZhou for their new album, DANCE. After one year, the four members can now sing better than before, their dance has improved, and they have even become sexier than before. Now, they are as close as S.H.E is.

Q: Just now when we saw you rehearse, it felt like a totally different group

AQ: After we finished the promotional activities for SiDuKongJian, we immediately started preparation for the new album. The preparation time for this album was the longest among all our albums. In this period of time, we had dance lessons, singing lessons, and also took part in acting and hosting jobs. All of us learnt many different things. In addition, this time round, the type of songs in the album is very different from previously. There are many dance tracks which are really nice. We genuinely like singing, dancing, and are working very hard to learn new things.

Q: As a matter of fact, the last time you came to GuangZhou for promotional activities, the reporters were discussing privately when you would split.

AQ: I understand. Actually, at that time, we were also very worried. We know that there were many people waiting for us disband. We had members leaving, and also faced a lot of attacks. At that time, there were many things which wasn’t convenient for us to say, and many things we could not respond to. Everyday, we had to work with extremely high EQ. We managed to tolerate  that period of time. During that period of time, we really grew a lot.

Q: Have you thought of giving up?

WL: At that time, there were frequent quarrels between us and we felt really demoralized. The company told us that we had to calm down, and temporarily refused to let us take up any work. Everyday we would just stay at home. You know, as an artiste, the scariest thing is to have nothing to do. The stress level was so great that we thought of looking for alternatives, and we were already mentally prepared that there might be no future.

AW: It’s very scary when people start doubting themselves. At that time, our income and popularity were affected really badly. The company arranged singing and dancing lessons for us, but we were not allowed to disclose any of our activities.

AQ: The change of members, fans choosing sides…we chose to not comment too much but instead continue doing what we have to. Finally, we pulled through those times, and our relationship became even stronger than before.

Q: Previously, you went to Korea and shared the same stage as Super Junior. How does it feel?

AW: That was a Korean variety program, and it was the first time they invited a Taiwanese idol group to take part in it. For the show, we spent about one month preparing. We were really excited when we reached, and felt that we represented Chinese music.

Q: Your new album has been on the top of charts in Taiwan for a few weeks. Is this your best album to date?

AQ: Yes, we did quite well on the charts, and a lot of DJs would tell us that our songs are nice. Previously they would never say that. We came from variety shows, and at the start we really could not sing. In this 5 years, we have been learning, and finally now there are people who will acknowledge us as singers. In this album, we tried R&B, and put feelings into singing. Like just now, we requested to rehearse twice. Last time, we would not pay too much attention to these details.

Q: Can I say that you all can sing now?

XY: Regardless of whether it was BangBangTang or Lollipop F, I realized that there is a common problem, which is that the members only cared about dancing and not so much on singing. After watching some performances of SiDuKongJian, I felt that this shouldn’t be the way. After all, we are a vocal group. Dancing and singing are of equal importance. Thus, we underwent a series of singing lessons. In this album, we paid a lot more emphasis on singing. There are a lot of people who can sing nicely, but what do you mean by “being able to sing”? I feel that it’s having your own style. Right now, all our voices have our own unique points, and we really like singing now.

Q: This time, other than the drastic improvement in singing and dancing, your figure also became a key focus. Do you think this will shift the focus away from your album?

AW: I get what you mean. WeiLian and I would specially go to the gym to build up. Actually, the expectations for idol groups are increasing, and the bodies of male artistes are becoming better and better. I think it’s okay to be a little sexier. AoQuan and XiaoYu are skinnier, so WeiLian and I would take on the role of the “sexy pair”. The best point about our group is that we like to laugh at ourselves. It’s okay to say that we like to strip, since our bodies are a result of our hard work.

Q: The movie AoQuan acted in, “You are the Apple of My Eye”, is really popular. Looking at the individual development of each member, AoQuan seems to be the most successful. This reminds me of WuZun and Fahrenheit. Would AoQuan also go solo?

AQ: Actually in this album I also have a solo song. Following, there will still be movies, and I hope to release a collection of my drawings. However, I really haven’t thought of going solo, and never felt that I am a lot better than the rest. The few of us have been working hard together since debut, and I have always hoped that what I do can help this group. I will not feel that I must go solo. The success of “You are the apple of my eye” let people know that I can act, but my final aim is to let people know that this group is good. I am Lollipop F’s AoQuan.

WL: AoQuan’s popular now, but we think it’s pretty good. Now that people know he can act, they may consider if the other members can act too. Actually, we all can act better than him. When companies look for him to perform, when they know that he is the leader of Lollipop F, they would then invite the whole group. We have been through so much together, and our relationship would not lose to S.H.E. We have times when we would quarrel and have different opinions, but we would never compare who earns more or who has more fans. We just want the group to be better.

Q: Would you all have different plans next?

XY: I write more songs, and am now preparing for my own single. In the future, I would probably sing as a solo artiste, but we would not disband.

WL: I will still act and host, but I actually have more interest in acting. I hope that I can have more of these opportunities. As for doing business, I think I will forget about it. Everyone knows I opened a fried chicken shop, but everyone also knows that it closed down.

AW: I think I will continue working hard for action movies. Actually, last year I also acted in a movie “QiuJin”, but because “You are the apple of my eye” is too popular, everyone only noticed AoQuan and forgot about me.

4years ago, BangBangTang had their first interview in China, and I was the reporter. At that time, they were still 6. I couldn’t tell who is who, and the way they answered questions was really innocent. I only remembered AoQuan and WangZi’s faces. In four years, BangBangTang turned from 6 to 4, and released a few albums and held their own concert. However, one year ago, I once thought that these 4 people would have no way out, because their singing had not improved, and their dance wasn’t the best. They were lacking the “idol quality”, but were more towards the “ZongYiKa”. DANCE totally changed my image of them. From their performance on stage, I can imagine how much effort they have put in this year. AoQuan told me, they had survived the year under tremendous pressure. They managed to let people who once looked down on them see hope in them. From ZongYiKas to Taiwan’s most popular idol group, they had put in a lot of effort. Even if there are still many people who don’t like them, they are still working hard. If you have interacted with these boys, I believe, you would like them. Because they have a never-give-up spirit.

1110 Lollipop F hopes to have a concert next year

Since the release of their latest album, DANCE, in October, Lollipop F’s popularity has been on the rise. On 10th November, the four members appeared in GuangZhou for their autograph session. Lollipop F said they are looking forward to having another concert in GuangZhou.

Lollipop F’s DANCE is one of Gold Typhoon’s more important albums in 2011. AhWei appearing in a shirt which revealed his chest, WeiLian’s curled hair, XiaoYu’s golden hair, and AoQuan’s silver hair – all of it displayed their change. Lollipop F explained that in this album, there are a few dances which required strength in their lower body and hence they had been working out quite a bit.

Previously, AhWei and AoQuan had a performance on KangXiLaiLe which attracted many fans. This made XiaoYu and WeiLian slightly “jealous”, and they said that the next time they must join in the dance. AhWei explained that the dance was specially made for the show, and didn’t expect it to receive such a good response.

From BangBangTang to Lollipop F, although there is now 2 members less, they have still been doing well. When asked about concert plans, Lollipop F revealed that it is in the planning stage, and would likely be the highlight for next year. AoQuan still reminisces the concert they had with WangZi and XiaoJie two years ago in GuangZhou, and hopes that they would be able to have another concert in GuangZhou next year.

1021 Lollipop F holds press conference for album release

Lollipop F held the press conference for their album release on 20th October at a night club. AoQuan, AhWei, XiaoYu and WeiLian had signed a contract with Gold Typhoon on 21st October last year, and released their Si Du Kong Jian album on 6th November 2010. During the press conference last year, they each had a solo performance segment. This year, to fit in with their album DANCE, the members spent 2 weeks to each prepare a SOLO dance item. AoQuan who prepared an African dance said “We practically treated this press conference as a concert. I chose to do a barefooted African tribal dance also to correspond to the movie “Seediq Bale”!” However in the afternoon during the rehearsal, I stepped on a splinter and my leg bled for a while!”

AhWei chose to perform a dance which incorporates some martial arts and he revealed his body halfway through the performance. XiaoYu did a sexy dance with a female dancer. The other 3 members teased him and said “XiaoYu was exceptionally serious this time because he has a real person as a dance partner. After the rehearsal ended he kept asking the female dancer to practice their dance again!” WeiLian’s dance partner was a mannequin but he was really engrossed in his dance.

Lollipop F’s senior, Elva Hsiao, also represented Gold Typhoon to give the 4 members a gift each. Elva said “These 4 dance shoes are specially made according to the colour they each represent. It’s to wish that they would continue dancing hard!” The 4 members performed the Love Love Dance for Elva to judge who does it the best, and Elva gave WeiLian, who improved the most, the most recognition.

Gold Typhoon also gave Lollipop F a large gift, which is to send them to New York for dance lessons after their promotion period for this album ends. Gold Typhoon promised to spend more resources on the promotion for Lollipop F, to help bring their popularity and music up to a newer level!
