The Swordman Dream – Review

I’m sorry about the lack of updates I’m doing, I guess I’m really starting to lose interests in Lollipop ever since the split up. Anyways I just watched “The Swordman Dream” today.

Actually I never did had high hopes in this movie from the very start when I read about the storyline. But I still had little excitement inside of me because of WangZi. WangZi is actually not the main character but he does have quite amount of scenes (at least more than Kung Fu Hip Hop 2).

Basically the story is about a group of non-humans are trying to invade the human world and they were taking over this town. The king gave this fire to this monk (I think he’s a monk), this fire have the power to destroy those creatures and the monk’s journey is to deliver the fire to that town. The monk stayed at the LongMen hotel and was accidentally killed. Then TangSanJu took over to complete his journey for him. That is the main storyline but in between there’s lots of random stuff.

This movie really draws between the line of either a random funny movie or a random stupid movie. I say it’s random because they combined ancient and modern together, like sometimes they would spit out an English word and they combine modern things together like MBA, then this scene where the girls performed a similar song to Nobody. To me I think this movie is too random for my like. The first half of the movie is all random stuff and the second half of the movie is where the journey starts. But since my focus was on WangZi I must say he acted really cute, well there’s still more to improve to his acting but as we all know WangZi isn’t the very hyper active type so it’s nice to see him acting a character which is not like his real self. MaoDi appeared half way through the movie, when they got going on their journey. I think his opening scene was really cute, how he talked about how he was just collecting water and not perving on that girl.

BaiXiaTang intro scene, the movie opened showing a soccer match and the people were listening to the commentator like it was a radio broadcast.

BaiXiaTang was sending this guy off to a challenge match but when he got there BaiXiaTang couldn’t recognise him as he changed clothing. So he hit him and he fainted. He then found this badge which is for entering the competition therefore this guy thought he was a contestant and dragged him to the competition.

He luckily won the competition. LOL @ the part where he said “My name is BaiXiaTang because my grandma likes eating bangbangtang”.

This part is pretty cool! I like it.

Lots of expressions in this part. XunWuFan wants to get the badge back as he lost the competition. But BaiXiaTang doesn’t want to give it to him. XunWuFan suggests to compete again.

XunWuFan making trouble trying to force BaiXiaTang to compete with him again.

Have no idea what they are doing.

The motel was burnt down and BaiXiaTang was there for his boss.

The motel crew got attacked by a tornado and was separated. The boss got bitten by a scorpion and BaiXiaTang saves her by sucking the poison blood away.

They found a broken motel and decided to stay their making a new living.

The creatures came after TangSanJu’s team and they randomly met BaiXiaTang’s group. They all worked together to fight the creatures. At the end they used this guy’s fart to kill the creature.

The scene how they killed that creature was really like WTF!?
